It's been a while since I've done anything using this fun technique we call "rubber band wraps" and I had a fun new set of Gimme Clips that I wanted to put to use so I needed a style with two of "something" to be able to use both of the cute clips. So here's what we did. Make a straight part up front - slightly off center- Once you reach the back of the head, turn it into a zig-zag part (if you like) so you have sectioned the hair off like you're going to make 2 ponytails. Rubber Band Wraps & Messy Bun + Video
To preface this, this isn't something I made up - in fact if my memory serves me correctly, I saw it first on an old hair blogger - Pretty Pretty Princess Hair but for whatever reason when I went to link her, all her posts are deleted, so I did a quick video on how I did these instead. If you've been "around" long enough w/all us hair bloggers, you may have seen them elsewhere, but I'd bookmarked her post forever ago, and now her post is gone. I don't have step by step pictures on this, but ... continue reading...
Rubber Band Wrap Headband
When we were on "The Daily Dish" the first time, I'd briefly demonstrated how to do a rubber band wrap & said we've done them over the head before like a headband & I realized I'd never posted that on here to show you. If you need a refresher on how to do a rubber band wrap - you can check out our video HERE. I combined the rubber band wraps with THIS fabulous hairdo we did last year where we had a braided headband over the top of Goose's head. So for step by step pix on how I did ... continue reading...
5 Tools to Easily Remove Hair Elastics | Hair Hack
Today's tutorial is actually more of a "hair hack" or hair tip. We're sharing several different ways to get elastics out of your hair. Years back, after I'd posted our Rubber Band Wraps hairstyle, and more recently with the Side Swept Faux-Hawk I had people comment on how hard or painful it is to remove elastics. Because of that they tended to shy away from styles requiring lots of elastics. So because of those concerns, I've put together a little video showing different ways you can ... continue reading...
Crazy Hair Day
Recently Goose was talking with her friends, who all happen to attend different schools and she told me one of them had just had crazy hair day this week. It made me realize I'd never posted their crazy hair from last school year. Our school always has it toward the end of the year - but being that Halloween is just around the corner and every school does it at different times, I thought I'd share with you are crazy hairstyles. I'm more of the thought that they should be called "ridiculous or ... continue reading...
10 Different Versions of “Pocahontas Braids”
Going back through the hundreds of hairstyles we've done over the past several years, one thing is for sure -- we love braids! I also realized I've come up with a bunch of different variations and "twists" on regular ol' "Pocahontas braids." So I thought it'd be fun to share them all in one place! There were a few others I could have included in this post, but we'll just stick with the good round number of ten! All of these are great for summer or a full day of play at school. See below ... continue reading...
