Going back through the hundreds of hairstyles we've done over the past several years, one thing is for sure -- we love braids! I also realized I've come up with a bunch of different variations and "twists" on regular ol' "Pocahontas braids." So I thought it'd be fun to share them all in one place! There were a few others I could have included in this post, but we'll just stick with the good round number of ten! All of these are great for summer or a full day of play at school. See below ... continue reading...

Bobby Pin Storage
A while back I shared several ways people store their bobby pins that I'd found on Pinterest and I decided to come up with one of my own. We've always had a little container that had divided compartments probably meant for craft supplies, but we have it in one of our bathroom drawers with clips, bobby pins, etc. in it. The problem was, the little divided off sections were barely big enough for my bobby pins which meant that it was hard for me to get them out. So I decided I needed something ... continue reading...
Letter Z Hairstyle
Z is for Zebra (Bug's favorite animal!) But before we get to our tutorial - I just wanted to share a cute little picture of Bee from her pre-school graduation. I think I caught her almost in a blink! We are so proud of our little Bee and can't believe she'll be starting Kindergarten this fall. She's growing up so fast - before I know it she'll be graduating from high school! Anyway - here's how we did our letter Z hairstyle. Crazy that we are already done with our whole ABC hair ... continue reading...
Letter Y Hairstyle
Y is for "Yak" (That is the 1st word Bee gave me when I asked her what starts with Y!) Here we are .... 25 letters down, and only 1 more to go. Perfect timing, since Bee finishes up pre-school this week. We'll have the letter Z here for you shortly, but first the letter Y. Once again, this isn't one that's hard to figure out, but here's how we did it. Step 1 - Part the hair Part right down the middle of the head & then from ear to ear. Basically making part that looks like a ... continue reading...
Letter W Hairstyle
W is for Wishing Well I can't believe how quickly the time has passed since we started doing our ABC hair series back when school started in the fall. And now the kids barely have a month left! So exciting that we're nearly done with the alphabet! There were several different ways I could have done this, but we opted for one that was a bit more "free floating" than some of the other letters in the past have been. No bobby pins or anything required in this one and it was pretty quick. It ... continue reading...
Bobby Pins – Oh the Possibilities!
It shouldn't be a secret how much we use (and love) bobby pins & hair pins around here. I don't know where I'd be without them. You can see some of our tips & videos about bobby pins HERE. Not to mention our Goody Spin Pins that are a fabulous substitute for lots of pins in a bun. You can check those out HERE and our video HERE But, obviously as wonderful as they are, you can't use those when holding back bangs, or small sections of hair, etc. And while back I'd written on Facebook that ... continue reading...
