About

Hi & Welcome to Babes in Hairland!

So glad you stopped by & we hope you’ll stay a while.

We started this blog back in 2008 as a fun hobby to be able to share our hair styles with others.  Whether hair is your forte or you’re just a beginner in the world of hair — there is something here for everyone!  If you are new to our site, you might want to read THIS post to help you know what you’ll find!

Me in Curlformers (1)

I’m a stay-at-home mom with 3 beautiful daughters who we’ve nicknamed – Goose, Bug & Bee. And with 3 girls, what else am I  going to do, but a ton of hair?! So good thing that I love to do their hair. I’m no beautician but I love to be creative and try new & fun things.  I love music, reading, messing around in my kitchen and traveling.  I am also a Mormon.  You can read more about that HERE.

Some days the Babes cooperate more than others, but since I’ve been doing something with their hair since birth, they are all used to it by now! Some would say I’m obsessed with hair …. I’m ok with that! If you want to read more about my possible reason for being OCD over the top with my girls hair – you can read the adventures of MY issues from the past HERE!

So thanks for stopping by! Pull up a chair, sit a cute little head of hair down in it, grab a comb & some hair accessories, and get ready to have some fun!

Oh, and I almost forgot – These are the 3 cuties of Babes of Hairland!

The 3 Babes - from Babes in Hairland

This is Goose – she’s 12 years old and already taller than me!

Goose - 11 years old

This is Bug & she is 10.

Bug - 8 1/2 years old

And the “baby” of our family – Bee and she is 7 now!

Bee - 6 years old

And this is our entire little family.  I’ve been so blessed with an amazing husband who supports us fully in our obsession with hair!  He puts up with a ton of estrogen in our house!  He’s also one of the reasons the girls have such great hair! :)

So my sister just fixed Eleanor’s hair and it was so cute so I asked where she learned to fix hair so cute. She let me know of this genius woman’s blog!! Then I saw your beautiful face!!! How fun! I am amazed!

Hey! Such a small world isn’t it!? So glad you found us & hope you’ll have fun looking around & trying our stuff! Tell your honey I said hi! :)

  2. Ana says:

    wow
cute girls, but their names are pretty outrageous in my opinion.

    • The Mom says:

LOL — the names Goose Bug & Bee are actually their nicknames. I agree, they are pretty crazy if they were their real names. For the sake of “anonymity” we use their nicknames instead of their real names here on our site. :)

You kinda broke that rule when you published your article in the Herald with your kids’ names in the picture caption lol

    • The Mom says:

That picture is not of me or my girls! That was of another lady and her girls that were also featured in the article!

  3. Lucy says:

I’m the same age as goose

I love everything! You are one very creative and talented woman! I can’t wait until my 1 yr old’s hair grows out more to try these styles! Thank you! :)

    • The Mom says:

Thank you so much. You’re very kind. I’ll keep my fingers crossed her hair grows quickly so you can try some of our cute toddler styles out sooner than later! :) Hope you’ll visit often.

  5. SO excited to find your site through Pinterest … for myself!! I have long hair and I am going crazy with the boring bun lifestyle. My son is too little and has hair a little short for braiding. :) Would love to see posts/advice about doing nice braids and such on your own hair, which is a LOT trickier than doing it on someone else’s noggin. Look forward to exploring your site! Cheers!
