First off, I’ve got to say my hands and arms are about to fall off … no not from this hair do I’m going to post, but from spending over 2 hours catching up on all your fabulous and nice comments. Hopefully I didn’t overlook anyone. I tried to flip back and forth between e-mail and the comments so I could e-mail those that had an actual address to write to, and then make comments back to you in the “comment section” if you there wasn’t an e-mail address. Anyway, some of you may have several e-mails from me — sorry! Anyway, if you’ve made a comment and haven’t gotten an e-mail from me, go back to the post on which you commented, because I’ve replied to ya’ll…. hopefully I didn’t forget anyone. I am now caught up and hopefully it’ll stay that way. If I somehow over looked you please let me know. Once again, thanks for all your kind words and for taking the time to check things out.
Ok, now on to business. This one hopefully is a no brainer, since I didn’t get “during the do” pictures! This was what I did w/Bug’s hair last week for church. It’s nothing earth shattering, but we got a lot of compliments on it. Maybe because it was so simple!
Step 1 – Make a 1″-2″ deep side part on the right side of the head
Step 2 – Part down from that to the ear
Step 3 – Braid that section of hair
As you can see from the first picture I just started a basic braid and braided until I got to the end of it. You could do just about any twist or braid type. I was in a hurry so we stuck with the basic 3 strand this time.
Step 4 – Pull remaining hair into a ponytail
Step 5 – Braid the ponytail & make a bun
I let the side braid just hang out while I then made the a ponytail, with a regular braid and turned it into a bun.
Step 6 – Drape the braid back and over the top of the bun & secure
It wasn’t quite long enough to wrap all the way around, so I took it as far as I could and fastened it with the cute little butterfly clip she picked out. I fastened the accent braid to the side of her head with a bobby pin kind of from the inside/underneath so you couldn’t see it. I wasn’t sure if it’d start “sagging” or not so to ensure that it didn’t, it helped having the bobby pin there.
Like I said, you could do the accent braid as a twist, a 4 strand, or a rope braid, and even the bun in the same thing. This was just the basic and simple way we did it this time.
