I had someone tell me this is how Drew Barrymore wore her hair in “Ever After,” hence what I’ve call it. I think the front might have been French braided, but we’ll just go with this!
Step 1 – Starting in the middle of the head make a small part and start a French twist.
It is basically the same process I do in my bangs in the video HERE. Two strands of hair twisted, and with each twist you add another section of hair like a French braid – only you are twisting 2 strands of hair instead of braiding three.
Step 2 – Stop adding hair when you reach the ear.
Once you reach the top of the ear, stop grabbing hair to add to the twist. Then just twist the remaining hair until you reach its end.
Step 3 – Repeat on the other side.
Step 4 – Fasten in the middle with a rubber band.
Now that I’m posting these, I realize Bug was standing slightly turned, so her bow looks crooked – heck, maybe it was crooked, I don’t know. Either way – you get the idea! Once again, Bug was not impressed with me having to take pictures as we were rushing out the door so she gave me the best pouty lip she could. (Maybe I should start a blog on those!)
Then she gave me a smile but with Bug-o huge eyes! I also did this on Goose’s hair – her ends barely touched in back – darn. It looked cute still – especially since her hair is thicker, but in the rush of the morning, I forgot to get pictures of hers. The thicker the hair, the better any of these will look. Enjoy.

how do you keep her hair so smooth and straight under the twists?
The Mom says
I usually do their hair when it’s damp or I use a water bottle to mist the hair to cut down on fly aways and such. I spray it with hair spray when I’m done too. You can also use gel or mousse or something to help keep things smooth if that helps.
