Rope/Twist Braid – Braided Ponytail

This is what I did with Bug’s hair for the 4th of July. Sorry my flash made the color on this kinda weird. Anyway, I knew there would be swimming and that kind of stuff going on, but I didn’t want just a basic ponytail or braid. So this is what I did …

Step 1  – Make  a ponytail

Step 2 – Make 3 rope/twist braids

Just in case you’ve not seen how it’s done, check out my video HERE.

Step 3 – Braid the 3 twists

After making the 3 twists and tying them off on the bottom, I just braided the 3 twists like a normal 3 stranded braid. And ta-da! Nothing majorly fancy, but I think it looked kind of cool.

Complete with a cheesy smile, it turned out great for what I was wanting on the 4th. Once the day was over – water activities and all, it was pretty much still in tact and it made for quite the wavy ponytail the next day.
