Our TV Segment & a Winner

Secondly, for those locals that tuned in at the times I told you and missed seeing me, I apologize. Things did NOT go as they were supposed to, and in fact one of the channels actually left before all of the mommy blogger segments (sniff sniff!) and so I didn’t get to do my first segment. Then the 2nd one was actually on earlier than it was supposed to be, so my husband didn’t even get to see it since he was getting Bug ready for school. Thank goodness for my friends with TiVo (yes, I live in the dark ages!) Anyway, it appears the only link I have is for one of the little things we did at the very end of the newscast where we raced some of the local policeman wrapping up some of the food donated. I’m trying to find out if there is any way I can actually get the silly segment of me with Big Budah so if I do, I’ll be sure to post it. I took Goose down with me and we had to be downtown at 5:30 a.m. to set up. It made for a VERY early morning! Anyway, for my clip with Big Budah, — He’s a funny guy & so I knew I wouldn’t necessarily be doing any hair on Goose for my time with him. Thanks to my good friend Mel, she loaned me a long black wig & I sewed him a Big Budah baby headband and we’d made a bunch of flower clips to hand out and so we had some fun with that when chatting with him. Even though I only have the 1 video clip, I did take some pictures of some of the happenings while we were down there. (See if you can figure out which one I am in the clip — hint, I’ve got Goose with me!) And the headband Budah is wearing — he had me add a bunch of the clips we’d made to add to his “flower power!” It was pretty funny!

We had just a few days to get ready for this whole even & put stuff together for our booth and so Goose was a dear & helped me put together a bunch of flower clips to hand out. My husband “decided” to get the stomach flu and so I was more than a little stressed trying to pull everything together by myself. But thanks to good friends, great connections and wonderful family I was able to pull it all off!

I had to have a sign for my booth & so I had one of those “science project” type display foam board things that the sides folded in. It was huge, but looked great.

Down at the actual event, freezing our buns off a bit & Goose being a good sport!

Me, Goose, a few of the other mom bloggers, and of course, Big Budah. He’s normally pretty bald, or has a bit of stubble on his head. Thanks to me he had on a big long black wig and a darling stretchy headband & flower.

My flash went off for this one but Goose & Big Budah posing together! He is hilarious.

Goose got in on some of the fun “chicken dance” with some of the other kids down there.

And I must say I was pretty dang fast with my letter opener instead of using scissors to cut! The police officers totally cheated! One of them came through (and you can see it at the end of the video) and pulled open some of our wrapped packages! Big Budah knows his stuff though & didn’t side with the news anchor! We totally won!! We had to use stickers for our tape so Goose helped me with that as I pulled the paper around the food! She’s such a good helper!

Anyway, it was quite the experience. We had so much fun. Thanks to those of you that came down & said hi (you know who you are- wink wink!)
