After my last post & seeing Bug with her long hair & curls, it made me itch to put her hair in Curlformers to see what the result would be. Now that we’ve discovered she has a bit of natural curl in her hair, I was worried that the curls would turn out a bit funky or they might have a mind of their own.
So Saturday night we put them in so she’d hopefully have a pretty head of curls for church on Sunday. To be quite honest I was a bit nervous! Silly, but I was. I used our 16 long & wide Curlformers, and some wide & extra long ones that I have as well. I think I had a total of 20 curlers in her hair. The most I’ve ever used probably. Ironic since she now has short hair – but I wanted to use a lot smaller sections.
Sunday morning, I pulled them out, and things seemed to be looking good. Needless to say I was relieved! Once I got them all I out, I separated the ringlets a bit since I prefer to not have them bunched into individual ringlets as much.
So – a quick trip back in time … These were the curls I was itching for & missing so much ….
And these were the curls I got …. As always, they turned out fabulous. Were they shorter? Of course. But were they just as fabulous? Oh yes. I felt like I had a little Shirley Temple walking around my house. She looked so stinkin’ cute. I had so many people come and tell me how cute she looked.
We just let the curls “be.” With curls like this all I wanted was an accessory & I thought her hair would speak for itself! And, well, it did! I did, however, pull one little section of hair back and bobby pinned it but not anything much to write about! We just got this darling headband & clip from Gimme Clips and it added the perfect touch to tie it all together. The headband was black so it hid in the curls & then the flower with the bling just added the splash of color we were looking for against her darker hair. She was so excited that the curls turned out & that she could “bounce” around everywhere she walked all day! She definitely had a spring in her step! LOL Simply beautiful. So the verdict is — long or short hair – my heart still belongs to Curlformers. One of these days I’m going to have to try them on myself …
Best part is, this morning when she woke up, there was still plenty of curl left over and so we had more darling curls today. I’ll share that tomorrow.
