We’re back today with a quick and easy hair tutorial today. This time, it’s from my oldest daughter, who currently is 15 years old. She also might be sharing something with you guys that you’ve been wanting to know for quite some time, so keep reading! The half-up topknot she creates takes almost no time at all. It is also great for keeping your hair up and out of your face. This hairstyle will work on short or long hair. She’s also sharing a few things she uses for her hair that helps with frizz and how long it takes to dry her hair.
1 – Prep you hair
She’s got clean hair, and before drying her hair she used Kenra – Platinum Blow Dry Spray which helps cut her blow dry time in half. Go HERE to purchase Kenra’s Platinum Blow Dry Spray. She loves it! Below is what she says about Kenra’s spray:
She also loves our Style & Shine oval brush from Curlformers.com (Hairflair). To purchase a Travel sized Style & Shine brush, go HERE. Below is what she says about our brush:
2 – After you’ve prepped your hair, from the temples back to the crown, section out that hair on the top of your head.
3 – Begin twisting this section of hair so all that hair is slightly twisted.
4 – With the hair twisted, begin winding it carefully into a bun. Position the bun so it sits where you want on top of your head.
You can really position the topknot anywhere – closer to your face, or further back. She prefers it further back so she can have a bit of a ‘poof’ up front near her face.
5 – Once the hair is wound into a bun, take a ponytail holder or elastic, and wrap it around the bun a few times.
6 – If needed, add a few bobby pins to secure the topknot better. This also helps if you don’t want it to stick too high off your head.
7 – Curl remaining hair down in back if desired.
