As I mentioned yesterday, her Curlformer curls last more than one day. This seems to be the case for us no matter which one of the girls uses them. The next day they obviously are more relaxed, but we obviously wanted to take advantage of the curl. I had a few people ask what we use to make the curl last more than a day. I wish I had a magic answer for you! We really don’t do anything special. It may just be their hair type. We, of course, put product in their hair when we put the Curlformers in. This time I had Herbal Essence mousse instead of the my normal TreSemme that I usually have had. It seemed to work just as well. I do use hairspray in their hair too – but not a ton. I imagine if you were to spray the heck out of the curls, that might help preserve them too!
Bug’s hair was a bit less curly on the one side where she’d slept, so I had to touch it up with a curling iron just a little. I’ve heard that sleeping on a silky pillow case helps, or even wrapping your hair in a silky scarf while you sleep to help preserve “good hair days.” I don’t know how much a kiddo would go for the scarf thing, but the silky pillow case might be something to look into.
Anyway, for the 2nd day of curls, she wanted to sport another headband from Gimme Clips and so this was my simple trick to keep the headband in place. I’ve got more tricks to keep headbands in place if you go HERE. I simply took the hair that was in front of the headband and gently pulled it back over the headband & anchored it behind it with bobby pins forming an X. I did it on both sides. The one side the X got covered up by the flower on the headband, and the other side got covered up by her curls. It was just enough to keep it from edging forward off her head throughout the day.
Then we added this darling pink clip from Gimme Clips … that we helped decorate (more on that in a minute) and it looked absolutely darling. The Bling on her flower looked super cute with the bling around the neckline of her shirt. It looked like the flower came with her shirt.
So …. what’s the deal with this flower & bling?
Well, I think ….
It just wouldn’t be Spring …
Without a little Bling!
I recently had the fabulous opportunity to meet with Gimme Clips. It was seriously a hair blogger’s dream! Flowers and hair accessories everywhere! I wish my bedroom could have all the fun & cute things they have there & that they create. It was awesome. One of the fun things they make is this Gimme Glam Kit.
So using their fun Gimme Glam Kit we added bling to dress up the cute pink flower that comes with the kit:
And then Goose wanted to give it a try & so she added some to one of the flowers she’d made for our fun TV bit we did back in January. It was a fun little project to do together.
She was excited to wear it to school the next day! So very cute.
I’ve got to admit, it’s rather addicting to use! I wanted to start finding other things I could put the fun little gems on and “cutsify!” I’m not sure how much my husband would appreciate me putting these on his work shirts though! LOL To find out more about this whole Gimme Glam Kit – feel free to watch this video I put together. Hopefully you get the idea.
