I got an e-mail the other day from Paloa asking if I was going to do the letter U because her twin daughters, who are in Kindergarten, are having a Q&U letter  wedding ceremony.  She wants to do a Q for one and a U for the other.  I thought that was the cutest idea ever!  So Paola – this is for you!  Hope to see pictures! 🙂

This style isn’t too hard, it’ll just require strategic placing of your bobby pins and depending on the length of the hair will determine what you end out doing with the ends to hide them.

Step 1 – Part the hair down the middle & make a ponytail

Make a ponytail on each side so you have 2 of them.  Depending on the length of hair you’re working with will determine where you place your ponytails.  Because Bee’s hair is rather long, I made the ponytails nice and high.

Step 2 –  Make rope/twist braids in each ponytail

If you braid or twist these – it’s up to you.  Check out our video if you don’t know how to do a rope/twist braid.  Secure each end with a rubber band.  I leave the ends in a little loop & don’t pull them through the rubber band the last time.  It keeps them from poking out where I don’t want them.

Step 3 – Secure the left twist on the right side with a bobby pin

Having the loop at the end of the twist makes it easy to stick a bobby pin through it and secure it under the base of the right side ponytail.

Step 4 – Repeat on the other side

Step 5 – Secure as needed

Again, depending on the length and thickness of the hair you’re working with will determine how many bobby pins you need and where you want to place them to hide where the ends of the twists come up under the base of the pony tails.   Arrange the twists to lay as you like and secure with bobby pins.

And of course, we can’t forget the Letter U in sign language!

And since Bee lost her tooth, we don’t seem to have as many problems getting her to smile these days!  She loves to stick her tongue through that little space on the bottom!  So cute!
