If it seems like I’ve been a bit absent here or on other social media, it’s because I’m drowning in Halloween costume projects, and other normal life craziness. If I can just make it through the end of the month, I’ll consider myself successful! Anyway, this is a quick and easy style that I did on Bee recently and assuming you know how to make a regular 3 strand braid, it’ll be a piece of cake. I did this on a day we went out of town and went swimming. It held up wonderfully which is always nice when dealing with “swim hair” after you are done swimming!
Step 1 – Part the hair from ear to ear – Make a half ponytail
Step 2 – Braid that section of hair
Braid as far down to the ends as you can and secure the braid with a clear rubber band. I had my braid off to the left just a little.
Step 3 – Part remaining hair in half
Lift the braid up out of the way, and make a part directly down the back of the head under the braid. It doesn’t have to be perfectly straight because it won’t show!
Step 4 – Make another braid
Using the 2 sections of hair that you’ve divided out and the braid from above, make another braid. Use the braid from the top as the center strand. You may need to comb through those side sections to smooth them out as you pull them back to start braiding them around the braid.
Step 5 – Braid all the way down and secure the end with a rubber band
Finished!
You’ll end up with a cool looking braid. I guess technically it’s a 6 stranded braid, right! 🙂 Well, ok, not really – but it looks awesome when you are done!
That’s it! Quick and easy, right?! We’d love it if you share this fun style by clicking on one of the little buttons below!
