This was the style that Bug requested on her first day of school. I’d shot the video weeks ago and then she rushed off to play and I totally forgot to take after pictures. So the pictures are actually from her first day of school not from when I shot the video! Oh well. This is a nice way to finish off a style instead of just pulling 2 braids back and tying them off with an elastic. This is a quick & easy style great for a school morning. So here’s how we did it:
And the basic step-by-step instructions:
Step 1 – Part hair down the middle & to the ears
Step 2 – Make a braid on each side
Step 3 – Pull braids into back & secure with elastic
Step 4 – Braid hair below elastic & gently pull on right side of braid
Starting at the bottom, work your way up the braid and pull on the edges of the braid – but only on the right side. You can make them as “bubbly” and messy as you want.
Step 5 – Secure end with elastic
Step 6 – Wrap braid to the left to form bun/flower
Step 7 – Secure bun with bobby pins
Once you’ve secured it, you can pull on the edges of the braid as needed to give it a more “flower” like appearance.
Step 8 – Curl the ends (optional)
FINISHED!
