I did this months back on Bug for Easter and realized we’d never done an actual tutorial on it. It’s quick & easy and perfect for summer or when you’re in a hurry to get out the door to school. It’s great for every day wear or can be dressed up by adding a fancy accessory and curls to the hair that is hanging down.
Make a part on the top of the left side of the head and then branching off of that, section off hair to make a triangular part to form a pony tail up front by the temple. Secure the little ponytail with a rubber band.
Behind that ponytail part out another section of hair behind the ear and include the 1st ponytail you made. Combine it all to make another ponytail and secure it with a rubber band.
Repeat this a 3rd time, parting out more hair making a 3rd section. This time once you’ve wrapped the rubber band around several times, don’t pull the hair all the way through to make a ponytail – leave it as a loop.
If you want, add another rubber band at this step to ensure it stays secure.
Make a messy bun. I did one my way – you can watch my video HERE. I used little bobby pins for this one since I’m dealing with a smaller amount of hair & I didn’t want the larger pins to stick out the sides.
I slightly curled the ends that hung down from the messy bun with my flat iron, turned the ends of her hair under, as well as curled random pieces for added texture.
We added a cute little flower from Gimme Clips up near the messy bun and that was it. Quick, easy & cute. Can’t get better than that!
