We have one more quick Valentine’s Day hairstyle for you today. I’d actually tried something like this last year and only had pictures of the finished product, so I redid it and took some more pictures for you.
I know there are similar styles out there like this where the hair is “twisted” or “french twisted” (sort of like in my twisted bang video or Ever After Twisted Crown) (adding hair in a little at a time around the heart shape), but I wanted to try make it a bit easier for those of you that may have a hard time with that.
Step 1 – Make a center part
Step 2 – Part out a heart shape
I took the end of my rat tail comb & branching off that middle part, simply “drew” the heart shape on the back of her head with the pointy end of my comb. It helps if you mist the hair with water a little. You can make the heart as big or small as you want. I wanted it to cover the majority of the back of her head.
Step 3 – Make a ponytail
At the bottom point of your heart shape, secure it with a rubber band forming a ponytail. Since I made the heart big, the ponytail was fairly close to the nape of her neck.
Step 4 – Roll the hair
Starting on the right side, smooth the hair and sort of comb it back toward the heart. I started toward the middle of the heart & simply rolled the hair around the outline of the heart. I twisted/rolled the hair away from me – toward Bee’s face (but I didn’t add little sections like a French twist.) You could roll it toward you if you want. Once you have the hair rolled up around the right side of the heart, temporarily secure it at the base of the heart ponytail.
Step 5 – Repeat step 4 on the left side
Step 6 – Secure both rolled sections of hair
With another rubber band, add both rolled sections of hair to the tip of the heart ponytail.
Step 7 – Wrap ponytail base (optional)
You can watch our video on how to wrap a ponytail here.
FINISHED!
