I know this one is basically a no-brainer – but I just had to show you what a difference this made in Goose’s appearance. I don’t know if it was the dress or the hair – or a combo of both, but with her hair like this, she suddenly didn’t seem like my “little girl” anymore. Granted, she’s almost a head taller than most kids her age so she’s always seemed a bit older to me than she really is (she gets her height from her dad) but still . . . she seemed so grown up looking like this. But then again – maybe it’s just me – but with her hair like this it really seemed to make her look more grown up. I’m not quite ready for her to be sporting the whole “poof bang” in front that has been so popular with teenagers & women these days – so this was kind of in between for us! So in my book this is a great way for a “tween” to wear their hair! But then again – at what age is someone actually classified as a “tween?!”
Simply part the hair from the right temple at an angle towards the left side of the head.
Then gently section a bit of hair out starting at the left temple and pull it upwards. Secure with a few bobby pins to make an X. Use your fingers to section this hair so you don’t get an actual part where you can see the scalp.
Add a flower or accessory of choice to cover up the bobby pins. This pretty one is from Gimme Clips.
We opted to not add a single curl this time. I just love her hair straight like this!
She was really liking her hair like this! Funny enough though, when she wears her hair in simple styles like this people have commented that her “hair isn’t done!” LOL I guess they’re just used to seeing it more fancy-pants on Sunday’s!
