It’s time again for our monthly Sunday post. This weekend is especially “sunny” for me and one for which I’ve been anxiously waiting. It’s actually one of my favorite weekends of the year. Why you may ask? Because 2 times a year (in April & October) members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gather together to watch or listen to “General Conference.”
This is a time when we get to hear from our prophet and apostles in a world-wide broadcast. It’s translated into almost 100 languages and is able to be seen or heard in countless areas of the world. The men and women who address us are called of God as leaders in our church and the messages they share are directly from Him. I look forward to Conference because I feel I am able to fill my “spiritual lamp” and gain insight that applies directly to me and my family. Their messages are always so inspirational and they encourage me and lift me to want to be a better person and have the desire to improve myself in all areas of my life.
You can watch online HERE. Saturday has 2 sessions (which have already been aired, but are available online to watch, read or hear) and there are 2 on Sunday as well. So if you ever wonder what our family is up to — this is what we are doing this weekend. We gather in our family room to watch General Conference and enjoy the Spirit of love and peace that enters our home from the fabulous and uplifting messages that are given.
Here’s a brief video on what General Conference is about.
And this video is one that explains a little bit about how our church is organized and what “we’re about.”
If you’ve seeking answers to questions in your life, ever wondered if there is a God, or just want to be uplifted, I would invite you to tune in and watch. If youre interested in learning more about me and my beliefs, you can read more HERE. And as always – regardless of where you are or what you believe, I hope you have a Sunday full of Sunshine!
