One of my very first posts I ever did years ago was how to wrap the base of your ponytail like Madonna! Since that time I’ve come up with a bit different way to secure the hair that you wrap around the base of your ponytail to hide the rubber band. I know people use a topsy tail or a bobby pin to do this, but for years we didn’t have a topsy tail & I never liked the way the bobby pin thing worked for me. We use this same technique that we show in the video in our fancy wrapped ponytail, and most every other style where we have had to wrap hair or a braid around the rubber band of a ponytail. So this is what we came up with. Hopefully this will help some of you!
Here’s a few different shots from the video too … we love the way this looks & it’s quick & easy.
How do you wrap your ponytail? What works best for you?

I always have a problem getting mine to stay wrapped. The edge of the wrapped hair always starts to creep down my ponytail until you can see my hairband…I’ll have to try this to see if it’ll help. Thanks for the post!

I find that if we wrap too much hair around the rubber band, it tends to creep a bit as well, so to help w/that problem, maybe don’t use as much hair and see if that solves the problem. Also, be sure to wrap the rubber band (that is securing the wrapping hair) good and snug. I find that helps too!
