We’re back with another cute Christmas hairstyle for you today! And you are going to look absolutely “angelic” wearing this one! 👼 This one actually was inspired by our Ghost Ponytail we shared back in October. When we first started that hairstyle, one of the girls said it actually was starting to look like an angel! So we played around with things a little bit and came up with this cute angel ponytail. As I did this style on Bee, we joked around and sang, “Angels We Have Heard on Hair!” 🙂 We highly recommend doing the same haha! It obviously isn’t something you’d wear other than at Christmas time, but it’s fun all the same! And don’t forget we have a bunch of other pretty Christmas hairstyles (Christmas tree braids, etc.) so be sure to check them out HERE.
Here’s our video showing how we create this cute angel ponytail hairstyle. If you have trouble viewing it on our blog, you can go HERE to watch it on our YouTube channel. Be sure to keep scrolling for step-by-step instructions and more pictures.
- Part out a triangular section of hair from the temples back to the crown. Secure that hair with a clear elastic to make a ponytail.
- About 2 inches below that elastic, wrap another elastic around the ponytail.
- With the hair between the 2 elastics, gently pull on the hair to make it like a section of a bubble ponytail. You can make this section as big or small as you want, but this is the head of your “angel.”
- Take another clear elastic, and wrap it around the elastic from Step 2 at the base of the angel’s head. The last time you wrap the elastic around, don’t pull the ponytail all the way through, so the hair forms a loop and the ends spray up underneath the head.
- With the ends of the hair sticking out above the elastic underneath your angel, divide them in half. Draw each half to the sides of the head of your angel. This makes the wings of the angel.
- To make the wings have more of an arch than they probably have, gently fan them out a bit and use some firm hold hairspray to keep them in place.
- Once each wing is fanned out and adjusted as you want, you can decorate your angel.
- We opted just to add a halo. We used some fuzzy silver pipe cleaner in the shape of a halo, then attached it to a hair pin.
- Place the halo just above the top elastic from Step 1, so it “floats” above the angel’s head.
