I don’t know about you, but for as many years as we’ve been getting kids off to school in the morning, it always seems like we somehow are running short on time, despite getting up on time! If that’s the case for you too, you’ll love this style. It’s quick & easy. If you can twist hair, and do a simple braid, you can do this! No major hair skills required which is always a bonus! 😉
Here’s our video to see how we do it, or the step-by-step follows. If you can’t view the video here, click HERE to watch it on our YouTube channel.
Step 1 – Part hair off center toward the right side of the head back to the crown
Step 2 – On the left side of the head, section out a small amount of hair near the temple
Step 3 – Twist this section of hair clockwise, so you are twisting it inward toward the head, until you reach the middle back of the head
You could certainly make rope twists/rope braids with these sections of hair, but this is all about “no hair skills required” and anyone can twist hair, right?!
Step 4 – Temporarily clip the twist to the rest of the hair so it doesn’t unwind
Step 5 – On the right side of the head, section out a small amount of hair near the right temple
Step 6 – Twist this section of hair counter-clockwise, so you are twisting toward the head until it reaches the middle back of the head
Step 7 – Secure these 2 twists together with a clear elastic so it is centered on the back of the head
Step 8 – On the left side of the head, below the first twist, section out another small amount of hair just in front of the left ear
Step 9 – Repeat the twisting process in toward the head and temporarily clip it to the rest of the hair so it doesn’t unwind
Step 10 – Repeat on the right side of the head just in front of the ear, twisting the hair back to the middle of the head
Step 11 – With these 2 twists from Step 8 & 10 and with the hair below the elastic from your top twists, bring all 3 sections of hair together
Step 12 – Proceed to make a 3 strand braid using the tail from the top twists as the center section. Be sure the elastic gets covered in the process of braiding.
Step 13 – Braid down as far as you desire, and secure the end with another clear elastic.
FINISHED!
