I am keeping extremely busy with things related to our upcoming book. I’m happy to report almost all of the hairstyles have been shot and I’m in editing mode now. I always assumed writing a book would be hard work — but never quite this hard! It’s been an awesome process though and I can’t wait until it hits shelves! I don’t have an exact date yet, but it will be out before the year is over.
As I’d mentioned when we announced our exciting news, I would be spending a lot of time on book stuff, and so finding time to shoot new hairstyles for the blog has become a bit harder. So I hope it’s ok that I share another amazingly talented person with you today!
I found Donna of Braidsandstyles12 on Instagram and have been a fan from day 1! She can create styles on herself as well as others (and she’s got a very cute accent too! 😉 ). And the best part is she has a YouTube channel where she shows how she does her amazing styles. You can find her at Dmmr1000. Don’t get me wrong, I can do a few things in my hair, but compared to her I fail big time! I wanted to share some of my favorites she’s done because she shows it is totally possible to recreate amazing things on yourself – not just your daughter! She’s truly an inspiration!
I shared this picture of hers on FB not too long ago. I seriously was drooling over these curls. You can see how she gets these curls in her video. I’ve not had much experience with a wand, but this makes me want to get one!
I’ve always assumed you need 5 hands to do some of the hairstyles I’ve seen online, but she proves you only need 2! She does 5, 7, 9, and even 11 strand braids. Be still my heart!
This is another of my favorites. But don’t let all these amazing braids discourage or deter you! She is proof that with practice, you can create amazing braids and styles that are hard or easy, not only on your daughter, but yourself! I love this Cobra braid. It’s so simple but looks so cool!
Here’s her video showing how it’s done.
Thanks for letting me share one of my inspirations with you today. Be sure to subscribe to her on Instagram, her YouTube channel, or on Facebook! She’s got talent you don’t want to miss. I’ll be back next week with a new tutorial so stay tuned! In the mean time, browse all of her amazing styles and maybe try something new on yourself!
