It’s hard to believe it’s already November! I hope you survived all the Halloween costumes and hairstyles and are now ready to deal with candy overdose! This style is far from anything Halloween-like, but instead it’s a beautiful style for a dressier occasion. It’s not a hard style which is a bonus!
Here’s our video showing how it’s done, and below are the step-by-step instructions and more pictures of this beautiful style.
Step 1 – Part hair down the center back to the crown
Step 2 – Then part down to each ear
Step 3 – On the left side, divide the section into 2 pieces and pass the top one over the bottom one, then pass the bottom one up and through the hole it creates
Step 4 – Cinch this half knot down and temporarily place a claw clip in the center so it will stay tight
Step 5- Continue making half knots but don’t cinch them too tight. It will create a chunky chain or knot chain
Step 6 – Once you reach the end, secure with a clear elastic
Step 7 – Repeat steps 4-6 on the right side of the head creating another chain of knots
Step 8 – Branching off the part that runs from ear to ear, make a part across the back of the head dividing out a small section of hair
This should not be from ear to ear across the back of the head, because you don’t want to make a half pony. This should have less hair than that and be higher up on the crown.
Step 9 – Gather the hair of this section into a ponytail and secure with an elastic
Step 10 – Draw the knots from the right side backward so they cover the elastic from the ponytail and the part from the ponytail
Step 11 – Secure with bobby pins as needed
Step 12 – Draw the knots from the left side backward, bringing them toward the right side
Step 13- Next, whatever knot is above the ponytail, gently draw the ponytail up and through the center of that knot so it drapes over the knots and cascades down
Step 14 – Secure the knots from the left with bobby pins as needed
Step 15 – Optional – Curl remaining hair down in back
We used our 25mm NuMe Magic Wand to get her beautiful curls in back. We curled her hair and then used a wide tooth comb to break them up and loosen them a little. If you don’t own one, snag your NuMe Magic Wand HERE today! We just love ours!
