If you didn’t win one of the sets of Curlformers last week, I’ve got another great way for you to get curls using no heat. I’m assuming you’ve got socks lying around your house that you could use – so if you do – you’ll be able to do this! If you watched us on The Daily Dish last month HERE, Bee had curls in her hair and I briefly showed how I got them using socks while we were on the show (but I think the angle of the camera on TV didn’t quite capture what I was doing) so here is a full tutorial on it. After I’d done our first sock bun tutorial that wasn’t so successful (you can see that HERE) I had one of my readers link me through to this video and I was so excited to see the results after the not so impressive results from the sock bun.
These are great for getting “rodeo princess curls” as Bee calls them & are perfect for any time you want beautiful curls for a special occasion. They relax nicely by the end of the day if you don’t want such a “bouncy” curl. When I did this in Goose’s hair, since her hair is thicker & heavier, the curls tended to be more wavy than the bouncy curl. But that was just fine too!

I just did this on my younger sister and they turned out absolutely gorgeous!! Her hair normally doesn’t hold curl well, but these stayed until late afternoon. thank you so much for sharing!!

Do you ever use rags? I have tried but I have a hard time wrapping the hair with the rags. I know people do it and get really tight curls. I’d like so see what you come up with.
I saw a great tutorial on another site where they held the rag along a pencil, wrapped the hair around the rag and pencil, and then slipped the pencil out at the end. My daughter has fine, short, three-year-old hair, so I’m guessing this is the method I’d try first until her hair is long enough for these sweet sock curls.
