I apologize for not getting anything posted last week, but my internet and phone service has been less than cooperative the last couple weeks and it still is being sketchy. Finger crossed today’s tutorial actually goes live! Today’s style is “knot” hard at all! 😉 You simply need some curls and a few bobby pins and you’re done! This style took me less than 2 minutes to create (not including the curls of course!) It’s great for any age or occasion.
Also, before I get to our tutorial, we’ll be having a giveaway tomorrow, so you’ll want to be sure to come back and check it out. We give a quick sneak-peek in our tutorial video, so be sure to watch it if you want to have an idea of what we’re giving away! 🙂

Step 1 – Curl your hair
We used our wider “Barrel Curl” sized Curlformers, and as much as we love the results the initial curls give, we wanted an even looser, more relaxed curl. You can buy your own Curlformers Styling Kit – Barrel Curls for Extra Long Hair HERE. As a side note, these are good for hair up to 24″ or 60cm. long and they worked perfectly for her hair length.
So we gently combed them out until it she had a bit of body on top, and loose waves/curls on the lower half of her hair. Perfect!
Step 2 – Next, make an off-center part on the top right of the head
Step 3 – Draw a small section of hair backward from the left and right temples
Step 4 – Gently twist them inward a few times
Step 5 – Like you tie a knot with shoelaces, pass the left section of hair under the right section, then draw it up and bring it through to make a half knot
Step 6 – Again take the left section of hair under the right section and pass it through the hole and pull it through
Step 7 – Cinch the knot up as tight as you desire it to look
Technically this is a square not, but the girl’s thought it looked like a pretzel, so pretzel knot it is!
Step 8 – Secure the knot from behind with a few bobby pins
I know we’ve mentioned it before, but bobby pins can make or break a style. Not all bobby pins are created equal! We highly recommend Supreme Bobby Pins by Marianna. We’ve used them for years and I won’t use anything else. They are seriously superior!
If you buy bobby pins on those “cards” at the drug store or a big box store, I guarantee you have bobby pins that don’t hold very well. You can buy Supreme Bobby Pins by Marianna HERE. The link sends you to ones that look silver, but I order these and while the box might appear different, you will get over 700 bobby pins that are brown.) You can also find them at Sally Beauty Supply if you have one near you.
FINISHED!
Here’s a little closer look at the finished “pretzel knot.”
