We hope you’re loving all these heart hairstyles as much as we are! With Valentine’s Day just a week away, we have yet another festive heart hairstyle for you! It’s not a difficult style and it I think for this style, 3 hearts are definitely better than one!
You can finish this style off in a regular 3 strand braid if you want, or really any other way you like, but we love how the 4 strand braid “pops” against her straight hair down in back. Here’s our quick video and be sure to keep scrolling for more pictures!
Step 1 – Part out 3 long narrow rectangular sections of hair on top of the head and secure with elastics into 3 small ponytails
Step 2 – Using your Topsy Tail, flip all the ponytails under and then back over the top
If you’re still needing a Topsy Tail, you can buy one HERE. These come in handy for almost every Valentine’s Day hairstyle because of all the ponytails that have to be flipped to create the heart shape! And I’ve checked again and they still are 40% off, so grab one today!
Step 3 – Starting on the the right, split the ponytail into a left & right section and begin to twist them toward the head
Step 4 – Twist the hair enough that it starts to form the shape of a heart. These can sometimes have a mind of their own, so you may need to adjust things a little to get it to stay in the heart shape.
Step 5 – Secure the 2 ends together with another elastic so the heart shape is maintained
Step 6 – Repeat Steps 4-5 with the ponytail on the left
Step 7 – Split the middle ponytail into a left and right section. Pass the right section through the center of the heart on the right and pull it through. Pass the left section through the heart on the left and pull it through.
Step 8 – Twist both sections of this middle ponytail to begin making the heart shape. You want this center heart to be a bit bigger than the ones on the sides. Secure the ends together with another elastic.
Step 9 – Take the ends from all 3 hearts and split the center one into 2 pieces so you now have 4 sections
Step 10 – Create a 4 strand braid with these sections of hair
You can make any braid you want, but we chose to make a flat 4 strand braid and then pancaked it a bit so it was flatter and wider. If you need help with 4 strand braids, watch our video HERE. Or if you want to make a round 3D 4 strand braid, watch THIS video.
