This is a fun new spin to doing "Little House on the Prairie" braids. And it's a fabulous one for school because it is fairly quick & easy (depending on how fast you can braid!) and just a little bit different from the "norm!" The several times I've done this recently, I've had so many people stop & ask me how they were hooked together or if I'd somehow braided them together to make them look this way. There is a way to do a 5 stranded braid (or 7 strands) and because you have so much ... continue reading...

A Fancy Row of Ponytails
Once again, no creativity in the name ... In the summer I tend to keep the girls hair up and off their necks to help them stay cool, but it'd been a while since we'd done anything down, so we tried this one for a change. I really liked the way it turned out. Plus, it's quite simple and fast. I started by parting Bug's hair on the side so it wasn't pulled straight back. I think it suits her face better. Step 1 - Pull hair up starting at the ears on both sides & make a small off ... continue reading...
Baby Twists – Mini Buns/Bantu Knots
I've had a few requests for other things that can be done with Bee's head of baby hair. On normal days she gets a little "fountain" on the top - or "spout" as my husband calls them. But this is one other thing I've done recently just for fun. Kinda silly, but I thought she looked cute - but hey, what else is a mother going to say?! I guess these could also be classified as mini pin curls that the ladies used to do back in the 30's and 40's - except I don't have baby bobby pins so I just used ... continue reading...
Basic Braid with a Little French
I'm not sure what to call this one, but there is a little bit of French braid to it as you can see by the added pieces from the sides. For those of you who maybe struggle with the French braid and feel like you need 4 hands to do it (as I felt for a long time!), maybe you could give this a try for starters, and work up from here. Just by looking at the picture, it's probably self explanatory, but for the rest of you, here's how I did it! Step 1 - Part hair from ear to ear and start ... continue reading...
Wrapped Rope/Twist Braids
Step 1 - Make a ponytail & divide in half For this hairdo I pulled Goose's hair up into a regular ponytail and then divided it into 2 sections. I made sure the hair was nice and damp so the rope/twist braids were free of a lot of fly away hairs. If you don't know how to make a rope braid - check out our video HERE. Step 2 - Make 2 rope/twist braids I made a rope braids in both sections and then tied them off at the end with a little rubber band. Step 3 - Wrap the rope/twist braids I ... continue reading...
