This is a style we did a while ago and shared it on Instagram but didn't have a tutorial yet (btw - do you follow us!? @babesinhairlandblog - wink wink ;-) ) This style is one anyone can wear and can be done with shorter or longer hair. If you're working with shorter hair, the braids won't "snake" around as much, and if you have longer hair, you'll obviously have more hair to wind around and secure. It's nothing earth shattering & hard -- but it looks very pretty once it's ... continue reading...

Double Half French Ladder Braids
I first shared this on Instagram last week and then later on our Facebook page and I had many asking for a video tutorial. It was something I did on a whim as we were heading out the door for our weekly summer movie fun. But we had a bit of time the other day and so we put together a video showing how we did it. It's sort of a combination of the following 3 hairstyles or techniques we've done in the past. This cute style comes mainly from our Double 1 Sided French Braids Our Feather ... continue reading...
Half Knot and Rope Braids
Sometimes Bee has a love/hate relationship with having her hair down. She's so funny sometimes - she likes it to "swoosh" back and forth when it's down, but doesn't always love it getting into everything if it's not contained some how. She loved this 'do because her hair was still sort of down, but stayed out of the way but she could still walk and skip around with her hair swooshing around! Ah, to be a 6 year old again! This style, obviously isn't anything too hard. It's great for a hot ... continue reading...
Braid & Knotted Bun Updo
At first glance, this bun may appear to be just a regular braided bun. Not so! If I try do Bug's hair in a bun, it still is a bit "knobby" for me. By that, I mean, I prefer braided buns that lay closer on the back of the head rather than being like a weird "knob" protruding off the back of her head. And so by knotting the hair in her bun it gives it a cooler texture and allows me to arrange the hair where I want it so that it isn't so much of a "knob!" You could certainly do this with a ... continue reading...
Half French Braid Hairstyle
I've seen similar things to this style out there, so I am not claiming this to be my own creation. I do claim it to be pretty & so we wanted to share our tutorial with you! For those of you that struggle with full French braids, doing them "one-sided" or half-way tends to be a little easier I think. This whole style is made up of half-French braids, you just change to which side you are adding the hair half way through. Step 1 - Make a part on top of the head We opted for a bit of a ... continue reading...
Half French Braid into a Fishbone
Since braids continue to be all the rage these days, I combined some of my favorites for this fun style. The regular braid winding through the fishbone braid adds a fun bit of texture & flair to an otherwise normal fishbone braid! Step 1 - Part the hair Make an off center part on top of the head. Then part from that down to the left ear. Step 2 - Make a half French braid Starting as close to that off-center part on top of the head start your half French braid. A "half" French ... continue reading...
