This style is a slightly different version we did on Bug years ago called Single Knots Criss Cross. But with the length of Bee's hair right now, we can get some awfully cute buns so we opted to finish the style off a little different and make a video showing how it's done. We also thought it needed a fun name - so "Hot Cross Buns" it is! Here's our video to see how it's done. Below you'll find step-by-step instructions and more pictures of the final hairstyle! Step 1 - Make a center ... continue reading...

French Rope Twist and Braid
I'm loving this hairstyle today because it combines two of my favorite techniques -- braids and rope twists/braids. It's really an ageless style and can be worn by a little girl or a mom so it's great that way too! This is one "Goose" started doing on herself first because she didn't feel like her rope braid stayed twisted as much as she would have liked. So she started finishing the style off with a regular braid instead of continuing a rope braid/twist at the end. So if you have trouble ... continue reading...
Bee’s Decision to Cut & Donate Her Hair
You may have noticed a lack of hair posts on my youngest daughter "Bee" recently. That's due to the fact that a big decision was made here at our house about a month ago. The week before school let out, Bee informed me that she wanted to cut her hair. I've talked to her on and off over the last year about cutting her hair, but she has always been adamant that we don't cut it. So I didn't push any further. She wanted to have the longest hair in our family and her class at school, and she ... continue reading...
Rope Braids and Twisted Ponytail
I've got to be honest, sometimes coming up with a name for a hairstyle is almost harder than coming up with an actual hairstyle! This is one of those styles that is really simple, but looks so pretty in the end. Those are my favorites! You could probably do this with braids instead of twists for a really great look too! Step 1 - Make 2 rope braids/twists Feel free to watch our rope twist/braid video if you don't know how to make them or need to brush up on your skills! Make a side part on ... continue reading...
Side Swept Double Knots Hairstyle
This pretty style is one we made up on a whim one lazy afternoon when the girls were home from school. It's quick and best of all it's easy. The only thing that can add to the time this style takes is if you choose to curl the ends of the hair like we did. It's meant to be a bit looser and free flowing, but you can tighten it up if you prefer. It can be done to look messy or extra fancy so it's really versatile. All you need is a comb and 2 elastics & you are ready to do this style. Who ... continue reading...
